The questions that actually decide it
Which university actually awards my Manipal degree?
One of three: Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal University Jaipur or Sikkim Manipal University. It depends on the programme, not on you, and it is named on every programme page. That university’s name is what appears on your certificate.
Are all three equally valid?
Yes on validity. All three hold UGC entitlement for the programmes they deliver online, which makes each degree equivalent to its on-campus counterpart for employment, government recruitment and further study. They differ in accreditation grade and history rather than in standing.
How do I choose between MAHE, MUJ and SMU?
Start from the specialisation you want, because the catalogues differ - MUJ has the widest, MAHE runs a narrower set weighted to analytics and health sciences, SMU has the dual-specialisation MBA. Then check the awarding university suits you. Our comparison page sets the three out side by side.
Can I switch to a different Manipal university later?
No. Each programme is registered with one awarding university, so changing means applying again to the other university’s programme and starting its curriculum. It is worth settling before you enrol rather than after.
What are the fees?

Do I need to attend a campus at any point?
No. Teaching, assessment and examinations are conducted online across all three universities, with examinations remotely proctored so you can sit them from home.
Can I study while working full time?
Yes, and most learners do. Sikkim Manipal in particular has taught at a distance since 2001, so its programmes were designed around people already in work rather than adapted for them.
