Almost everything written about online degrees stops at enrolment. The end of one is less discussed and more procedural than people expect - which matters if an employer or a further-study application is waiting on your documents.
The sequence
- Final semester results are published by the awarding university.
- A provisional certificate follows, confirming the degree has been awarded. For most job and admission purposes this is the document that unblocks things.
- The consolidated transcript or marksheet set, which is what credential evaluators and foreign universities ask for.
- The degree certificate itself, conferred at convocation.
Convocation is real
The Manipal universities hold convocation ceremonies for online cohorts, so graduating remotely does not mean graduating invisibly. Whether you attend is your choice and it has no bearing on the validity of the degree - the award is made when the university confers it, not when you collect it.
If someone is waiting on your documents
Tell them which document is coming and when. "Provisional certificate issued, degree certificate at convocation in due course" is a normal and well-understood position, and it is far better than going quiet while you wait for the final certificate.
Keep digital copies of everything, and note that the issuing body on all of it is the awarding university - MAHE, MUJ or SMU - which is what a verification check will look for.
